Keri has spent most of her life in Walton County. She became a part of the community as a military brat.  The experience as a military child manifested into a career dedicated to others.  She has over 20 plus years in Law Enforcement experience most of that with the Walton County Sheriff’s Office. She took a hiatus from Law Enforcement and completed three tours in the Middle East as a Department of Defense weapons instructor. She is a Nationally Certified Rape Aggression Defense (RAD) instructor, a program of awareness and self-defense for women and teens, and has conducted a number of programs for the Walton County School Districts. As part of women’s self-defense, she conducts legal, and skills training for women in firearms so they can obtain a concealed carry permit, all in her spare time.

Movies that have greatly impacted you:
Time for a movie or a TV show is rare, but a movie must stir the soul and have a life lesson.  A few that are contenders; Hacksaw Ridge, The Help, Miracle on 34^th Street and Casablanca.  I also enjoy books about history or a good biography.  College football is its own season so be ready to talk about the game of the week.  

Favorite local Guilty Pleasures:
A guilty pleasure is a great meal and a glass of wine with family and friends at one of the areas excellent restaurants.  

Favorite Staycation Spot:
For me and my husband Andy, staycations are typically a quick trip down to Apalachicola or St George island for a weekend. 

Favorite Beach Activities:
I enjoy hitting the local trails on the mountain bike or a good workout to start the day and any opportunity for a swim is a win.  A day at the beach should be relaxing and involve one of our many local gulf front lakes. 

Dog or Cat Person?
All fur babies are a great addition to life, with six dogs and six cats running around the house it would be a sin to declare one species meow favored over the other.
