Beachy Beach Sponsers Walk Hard for Wounded Warriors

Brothers of Alpha Tau Omega (ATO) fraternity at Troy University walked 128 miles to benefit Jeep Sullivan’s Wounded Warrior Outdoor Adventures, a Bonifay-based nonprofit organization offering outdoor excursions to wounded warriors, veterans and first responders. The ATO Hard Walk began in 2010 and is becoming a well-established annual philanthropy project for the fraternity. The route through Alabama and into Bonifay, Vernon, Ebro and finally into Panama City Beach in Florida, a 128 mile walk. Each year the walk becomes more coordinated and the support is greater.

This year Beachy Beach Real Estate is a very proud sponsor. We donated neon yellow head bands to the walkers not only to keep the sweat out of their eyes but to help be seen by traffic and others. The fraternity brothers participated in the walk to raise funds and awareness for Jeep Sullivan’s Wounded Warrior Outdoor Adventures. The nonprofit provided outdoor experiences for 47 soldiers last year by helping them get involved in hunting, fishing, golf, 5k runs and other retreats.

Beachy Beach joined Mayor Gayle Oberst, family, friends and veterans at Pier Park to help welcome the brothers of Alpha Tau Omega to Panama City Beach on March 9th, 2016. You will be able to see the special event on the next episode of the Beach Show! The Brothers of ATO raised over $25,000 on this walk and are still raising more.
